Despite public and private efforts to increase high speed Internet access in central Appalachian states, too many communities still face enormous barriers to full participation in today’s online world. But one dedicated group of people from across the region are working together to change that. The Central Appalachia Regional Network, or CARN, recently released a report outlining steps to improve Internet infrastructure, accessibility and affordability throughout the region.  In early June, CARN hosted the WV Broadband Summit in Charleston to address the three main questions regarding broadband access in West Virginia: Where are we? Where do we want to go? And how do we get there? Eli Kleinsmith has this report.
