In this edition of Mountain Talk host Sylvia Ryerson talks with special guests Todd Howard, Fern Nafziger and Nathan Hall about the upcoming Growing Appalachia day of free workshops, which will take place this Saturday, April 14 at the Jenny Wiley State Park near Prestonsburg, KY. The workshops will cover a broad range of ways to save and earn money here in the mountains through forestry, small-scale farming and energy solutions. In this show Todd, Fern and Nathan tell us more about what will be covered on Saturday – from Do-It-Yourself ways to save on home energy bills to how to get involved in your local farmers’ market – and discuss the potential this work has for the future of our region.
